Completed during the Design Products course at the Royal College of Art, Music Stand Products are a simple collection of foldable domestic tools.
The aim of the project was to provide functions usually only obtainable from large, heavy items of furniture in pieces that were light weight, cheap to produce and had a familiar aesthetic.
The range comprises an up-lighter (intentionally reminiscent of Achille Castiglioni's 'Luminator'), an adjustable height table and a hat and coat stand. Many details of the products are borrowed from a metal music stand but the components have all been modified to give the desired strength.
The prototypes were shown at the Milan Furniture Fair in 2001.
