A collaboration between Selfridges and Designers Block generated the opportunity for window displays of selected designers work to be shown during the autumn of 2002.
The occasion gave the chance to extend the concept explored at the RCA and Designers Block 2001 shows of the designer's workspace as the setting for explaining projects.
Set out on trestle tables, the installation featured four projects (Half Pint Mug, Music Stand Products, Brushanger and Wicker Hanger) and a continuous slide show of images of found objects or scenes. A partially frosted mirror mounted at 45 degrees ran the full length of the window display allowing text to be read from the table surface and details of drawings and components to be seen more clearly.
